2010 Penguin Design Award

The Penguin Design Award is an opportunity for students on a degree course to engage in design for publishing. This year they are introducing a Puffin Children's Prize in addition to the Penguin Adult Prize. Students may enter one design in either or both categories.  For the Adult Prize you are invited to design a cover for Patrick Suskind's book 'Perfume' and for the children's prize you are asked to design a cover for 'Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll.

The winner will be awarded an internship within the Penguin/ Puffin design studios as well as a £1000 prize.
Full details can be found on the Penguin Design website: www.penguindesignaward.co.uk  I have copies of the books should you need one.

For this competition you will obviously have to deal with the type. Tread carefully with this. Remember, if you don't have skills/ experience in anything seek the advice of someone who does: links with Graphic Communication students could be useful. Also remember entering competitions can form part of your work experience.
