Start the new year on the right foot and get your portfolio looked at by an expert

The AOI’s Open Portfolio session offers an exciting opportunity to meet experts of
the illustration industry and discuss what makes a great portfolio. Open
Portfolios is designed for students and emerging illustrators as well as
experienced professionals looking to generate new business. Newcomers and
recent graduates can benefit from general and editorial portfolio guidance.
Full time illustrators can use this opportunity to meet a commissioner in their
area of interest and receive advice on how to tailor their portfolio for
children’s book publishers, editorial commissioners, advertising agencies or agents.

How it works
The evening will begin with tea and coffee and a chance to network followed
by a short introduction by Fig Taylor on the key features of a good portfolio.
You will then be divided into the group of your choice. The places in the
various groups are limited to eight, thus ensuring that everybody has enough
time to show and discuss their portfolio with their expert advisor of their choice.

Advisors Confirmed so far are:
Fig Taylor – AOI Portfolio Consultant
Louise Power – Freelance Commissioner, Walker Books
Martin Colyer – Design Director, Readers Digest
