Last week a couple of us were talking about this, and yesterday as I was printing off some work I was reminded of it when someone mentioned how much nicer it is to experience work in physical form rather than on screen. As much as we all love email, proper post is pretty special and even more so when from a total stranger...
Michael Crowe and Lenka Clayton plan write letters to everyone in the whole world. In April they started by sending personal, handwritten letters to each of the 467 households in the small Irish village of Cushendall. More recently they wrote to everyone in Polish Hill, Pittsburgh, USA. The two artists are documenting the project on their blog, Mysterious Letters which is worth a visit to view each of the unique letters and curious gifts.
